Daimler Truck

People

We take responsibility towards society and our employees. Where we can make a contribution to change something for the better, we do it.

More than 100,000 people worldwide contribute to the success of Daimler Truck with their skills, ideas and commitment: Our employees are at the heart of everything we do. For them, we create a working environment in which occupational safety, health and well-being are prioritized – and promote a safe, fair and inclusive working environment in which our employees can develop their full potential.

It is particularly important to us that our teams are equipped for all tasks with a view to the transformation of our industry.

Respect and support human rights

As a globally active company, we are strongly committed to respect and support human rights, and we expect the same from our business partners throughout the value chain. We are committed to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and we place particular importance on the rights of the International Bill of Human Rights as well as the core labor standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

We reaffirm our commitment in our Declaration of Principles on Social Responsibility and Human Rights. It complements our commitment to respect human rights in our Code of Conduct.

In order to meet our human rights due diligence obligations as a company, Daimler Truck set up a Human Rights Compliance Management System (Human Rights CMS) at the end of 2021 and continuously expanded it in accordance with the requirements of the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (SCDDA), which came into force in Germany in 2023.

Sustainability along the supply chain

However, our commitment does not end on the factory premises: We also expect our suppliers worldwide to comply with social and environmental standards. Our goal is a supply chain that supports our sustainability efforts by protecting human rights while promoting environmentally friendly practices. We define our requirements for our business partners in our Business Partner Standards.

Being safe on the roads

Traffic safety plays a crucial role in our lives and in our trust in mobility and it is particularly important to us as a manufacturer of heavy commercial vehicles. We are continuously optimizing our driving safety systems with innovative technologies in order to avoid accidents in the best possible way and to increase safety on the roads for everyone involved.

As a global, listed commercial vehicle manufacturer, we are aware of our responsibility. That is why we do everything we can to make a positive contribution with our employees and products - for society, the environment and the communities at our locations.  We bundle all corporate citizenship activities worldwide under the Daimler Truck Cares initiative.
