Sustainability at Daimler Truck

As one of the world's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, we have set ourselves a clear goal: We want to develop sustainable and future-orientated transport solutions and bring them onto the road– for the movement of goods and passengers. In this way, we take responsibility: for the environment, society and our employees.

For us, sustainability is not an additional task, but an integral part of our core business, which decisively shapes our corporate activities. We focus on the topics of Planet, People and Performance. The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) serve as our guide.

Leading the transformation

One of our long-term corporate goals is to lead the technology transformation to enable CO₂e-free transport on the road by 2050. To achieve this, we will, among other things, offer battery-electric and hydrogen-powered trucks and buses in our markets that are CO₂e-free on the road ("tank to wheel"). From 2039 onwards, we aspire to only offer vehicles in Europe, Japan and the USA that are CO2e-free on the road.

Sustainability is what drives us

Our entire business strategy has a direct or indirect impact on sustainability aspects. In particular, the transition to CO2e-free drive technologies does not only change the central production processes, but also the tasks of our employees. We actively accompany these changes and ensure that sustainability is deeply anchored in our organization through training programs, process changes and innovation promotion.

Sustainability is an integral part of our decisions, today and in the future.
