Daimler Truck

Planet

We are clearly committed to the Paris Climate Agreement. We want to make sustainable transportation and passenger transportation a success and thus contribute to climate and environmental protection.

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time - and requires decisive action. As a global manufacturer of trucks and buses, we see it as our responsibility to contribute to climate and environmental protection with sustainable solutions. At the same time, as a global manufacturer of trucks and buses, we want to use sustainable solutions and develop strategies to counteract the effects of climate change.

Decarbonizing transport

Our goal is to make transport and passenger transport CO₂e-free during driving operation through technical innovations. This means that our vehicles do not emit any CO₂-equivalents while driving, i. e. neither carbon dioxide nor other greenhouse gases such as methane and nitrous oxide. We are contributing to this not only with battery-electric or hydrogen-based vehicles, but also in the form of various services and new digital solutions. We pursue this goal in all areas of our value chain.

Conserving resources in production

In addition, we strive for resource-efficient and climate-friendly production. Our goal is to reduce CO₂e emissions in our production, increase the use of renewable energy and improve energy and water efficiency.

Sustainable mobility through a circular economy

As the global economy grows and demand for goods and passenger transport increases, resource consumption is also increasing. Therefore, we want to operate our business following a circular economy framework by minimizing the environmental impact of our products through closed material cycles.

We want to use natural resources carefully and thereby protect the environment and the climate. Even when developing our products, we therefore focus on recyclability and the longest possible useful life. In order to avoid waste, we are working on extending the service life of all vehicle components. We are also looking into recycling solutions for our high-voltage batteries.
