In addition to producing transmissions for all of Daimler's vehicle divisions, the facility also makes planetary gear and portal axles, as well as torque converters for cars. The Mercedes-Benz Gaggenau plant is the competence center for commercial-vehicle transmissions in Daimler AG's international production network. The plant's employees support quality management activities around the world, provide on-site start-up support and train international teams at Gaggenau. Also here vocational training has a long tradition: More than 10,000 young people have completed their training in the oldest automobile plant during the last 100 years.
