Leinfelden-Echterdingen / Lemgo – Daimler Buses continues to systematically expand its electric mobility service in Europe: the manufacturer has opened its 100th eBus service centre for the Omniplus service brand in Lemgo. AHL GmbH & Co. KG, a location of the Beresa Group, specialises in the maintenance and repair of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz eCitaro buses.
Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Services Daimler Buses, explains: “The opening of our 100th eBus service centre is another milestone for us. Our customers in Europe have traditionally benefited from a comprehensive and highly professional service network, and we are continuing to drive forward the expansion of our service portfolio for electric vehicles. In doing so, we attach great importance to comprehensive service and the highest service quality.”
Trained in high-voltage technology
Omniplus service employees receive specific training in how to correctly handle electric vehicles and their high-voltage technology. This includes, among other things, work on the electric drive axle, on inverters, lines and fuses, and on roof-mounted air conditioning systems. The basis for this is a modern elevated work platform that makes it possible to work effectively and safely on roof-mounted Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro components. A crane can be used to transport the heavy batteries from the bus to a battery table, where they can also be repaired if necessary.
Insulated tools and protective equipment
Live line working (LLW) meets all safety requirements at all Omniplus sites. Qualified personnel use specially insulated tools and are equipped with protective clothing for working directly on the battery.
Omniplus as a reliable partner throughout the entire lifecycle
Daimler Buses pursues a circular and sustainable approach to battery lifecycle management and offers suitable solutions for respective customer requirements via the Omniplus service brand within the service network. The modular concept allows the batteries to be repaired and overhauled during their first service life.
As part of the transformation towards eMobility, the strong service network throughout Europe is what sets Daimler Buses apart from the competition. 44 of the now 100 Omniplus eBus service centres are located in Germany. The rest are distributed across Belgium, Denmark, France, the UK, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Hungary.
