- Comfortable and smooth drive due to automatic transmission
with torque converter
Even safer, more comfortable, highly economical and innovative – the fully upgraded Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo is the benchmark in its high-decker touring coach category. This is underlined by the attractive exhibition vehicle at Busworld Europe 2023.
Numerous innovative safety systems
The two-axle touring coach with a length of around 13 metres boasts new, powerful LED headlamps and new rear lamps. Its assistance systems are groundbreaking: some of them exceed the forthcoming EU requirements of the General Safety Regulation (GSR). The new Active Brake Assist 6 emergency braking assistant is even more capable. Sideguard Assist 2 reacts even more accurately to a risk of collision with pedestrians and cyclists – now also on the driver's side. At low speeds, the completely new Frontguard Assist detects obstacles or persons directly in front of the vehicle.
Drivers benefit from the new MirrorCam instead of the conventional outside mirrors. The MirrorCam system further improves the already excellent aerodynamics and thus further reduces fuel consumption – as does the now standard lowering of the body feature effective at motorway speeds. The 360° camera system provides a perfect all-round view when manoeuvring.
Sophisticated passenger compartment with new infotainment
The Tourismo on display welcomes its passengers with a sophisticated vehicle interior design. The subtle, elegant vehicle interior appointments in grey go together perfectly with the anthracite metallic exterior paintwork. Flooring in cherry wood finish convey a homely feel, anthracite quilted fabric covers on seats and backrests with grey side bolsters and headrests paired with orange piping and curtains create a dynamic feeling.
Passengers also benefit from new entertainment electronics, the Coach Infotainment series infotainment system with 21.5-inch screens and a brilliant image in full HD quality. Numerous USB sockets supply power to passengers' devices.
Comfortable and smooth drive due to automatic transmission with torque converter
The drive system of the Tourismo on display is also a special feature: it combines the powerful in-line six-cylinder OM 470 engine with a particularly smooth automatic transmission with torque converter. Among other things, this means that the drive system is protected on city tours and as part of feeder transportation as well as when travelling in mountainous terrain.
