BusStore, the international quality brand for the marketing of used buses and touring coaches under the umbrella of Daimler Buses GmbH, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year. BusStore, with its largest site in Neu-Ulm and other locations in 25 European countries, can look back on an impressive development. Since it was established in 2013, BusStore has become the European market leader in the sector and has continuously expanded its network of sites.
Busworld Europe 2023 in Brussels will be the starting point of the upcoming anniversary year with many campaigns. Daimler Buses introduced the BusStore brand for the first time exactly ten years ago at the Busworld trade fair. The initially 12 sites throughout Europe have now become 26 sites. And the range of services has also continuously expanded: today, it extends from sales and financing to vehicle classification and warranty scopes to service contracts for recently registered and nearly new used vehicles and flexible leasing offers.
Rapid expansion across Europe
The expansion of BusStore began in 2013 with sites in Neu-Ulm, France, the UK, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark and Sweden. In the following years, BusStore expanded its network and opened additional sites in Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Greece and many other European countries. With a total of 26 sites BusStore has more than doubled its network in just ten years and can now serve customers across Europe.
Networking within the European sites is a significant advantage of the used bus and touring coach range offered by BusStore. If a sites does not have a suitable vehicle in stock, it can access the entire range of offers from all 26 sites and thus find a suitable used bus for almost every customer demand. So far, several thousand used buses have found a buyer in other countries in this way.
Mercedes‑Benz and Setra buses and touring coaches have been the focus of the BusStore range from the outset and, to this day, make up more than three quarters of all purchases and sales. In addition, however, all common bus brands are included on the sales lists, which BusStore customers can view not only at the sites but also on multilingual websites online.
More than 3500 customers from 54 countries have taken advantage of BusStore's services in the ten years since it was established. In this context, vehicles ranged from a modern classic built in 1976 to a used vehicle that had been registered only twelve months before.
Safety thanks to reliable classification
Purchasing used vehicles is a matter of trust – BusStore relies on this trust as a result of its high level of performance, long-standing customer relationships and the brand image as a professional and reputable business partner. The classification of used buses and touring coaches into gold, silver and bronze categories makes a significant contribution to this. Vehicles are classified according to clear and universal standards that buyers can rely on throughout Europe.
With this unique and transparent classification of its vehicles, BusStore creates trust and sets the standard in the used bus business throughout Europe. The classification ensures reliable vehicle quality and makes it easier for buyers to purchase a used bus or touring coach, for example from a BusStore site that is located further away, in one of 25 European countries.
Service offering continuously expanded
Just like the classification, the wide range of services contributes to the success of BusStore. BusStore has continuously expanded its offering since its launch in 2013. In addition to the sale and purchase of used buses and touring coaches of all models and brands, these now also include financing options as well as the BusStore driveline warranty for Mercedes‑Benz and Setra buses and touring coaches.
In addition, BusStore offers service contracts for recently registered and nearly new used vehicles as well as retrofit solutions, for example for the turning assistant, or special COVID-19 retrofit packages. In addition, the range has been expanded to include short-term leasing and the flexible "BusStore Flexible Leasing" concept. BusStore customers opting for a used bus or touring coach from Mercedes‑Benz or Setra also benefit from the Omniplus service network – with over 600 authorised service outlets, it is the largest and densest bus and touring coach service network in Europe.
