Current challenges such as the Ukraine war, the energy crisis and pandemic, but also opportunities for German and European companies, digitalization, innovation and political decisions are the main topics at the 16th Süddeutsche Zeitung Business Summit in Berlin. On the podium, Martin Daum discusses, whether sustainability is still affordable, how climate protection can become a business model and how companies can increase their competitiveness.

In this context, Martin Daum underlines the commercial vehicle industry's commitment to sustainable transportation and refers to the zero-emission buses and trucks that Daimler Truck already offers today. He also emphasizes how indispensable a rapid expansion of the charging infrastructure is in this context. An energy turnaround, from generation to distribution, is a prerequisite for the transport turnaround to succeed. Policymakers should support the transformation, primarily by promoting climate-neutral future projects instead of relying on conventional technologies.
