The premiere model at the media days of IAA Transportation 2022 showcases itself as a comfortable coach for every occasion.

Striking appearance with a new face of the family and character element

The new face of the family is the outstanding distinguishing feature of the next generation of the Setra ComfortClass, complemented by the new character element on the sides. The combination of a black front panel and silver elements underlines the high quality of the next generation of the ComfortClass. Together with the fresh Denim-Metallic blue paint for the body and add-on parts, gives the HD model a modern appearance.

Tasteful and homely comfort equipment for touring

As they board, passengers are greeted with a backlit step strip with brand logo. Inside, they are welcomed by a tastefully designed interior with imitation wood flooring, partitions with glass inserts, and high-quality Setra Voyage seats featuring a multi-part composition fabric combination in cognac, with alternating copper and beige curtains and matching headrests. It's a true comfort zone for passengers, complemented by a refrigeration unit, onboard kitchen, and a washroom and toilet located near the second entry.

Entertainment electronics are also top-notch. The Coach MediaRouter provides internet access, and the new Coach Infotainment Series, along with large foldable 21.5-inch screens, provides the entertainment. It is also possible to connect one's own devices to the USB ports located between the double seats. These ports are subtly illuminated in blue, making them easy to find under any lighting conditions.

Attractive cockpit, exemplary safety, superior drive

The cockpit of the next-generation ComfortClass features enhancements such as Keyless Start and the new electronic parking brake, supported by the convenient Hold function, and Coach Infotainment Series multimedia system. A comprehensive range of safety and assistance systems supports the driver. There are the new, even brighter LED headlights, as well as the ambient lighting for reverse driving and the 360° camera system for perfect all-around visibility. The other list of equipment items reads like a Who’s Who of assistance systems: Active Drive Assist 2 including Active Steering Assist, adaptive cruise control, Active Brake Assist 5, latest-generation Predictive Powertrain Control, Sideguard Assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPM).

In combination with the fully automated GO 250–8 PowerShift transmission and the RO 440 rear axle, the compact inline six-cylinder OM 470 ensures an equally superior, economical and low-emission drive system. Driver Score also provides the driver with valuable support here.
