Munich/Regensburg - At this year’s IFAT in Munich, the world’s largest trade fair for environmental technologies, Pöppel received its new battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 with a waste collection body from Terberg HS. Pöppel is a long-established waste management and city cleaning family company based in Regensburg with a focus on sustainability. It is run by Susanne Pöppel together with her brother Michael Pöppel and their father Dieter Pöppel.

The all-electric waste collection vehicle will initially be used from June 2024 for an internal test run and is scheduled to go into regular operation from January 2025. During the test phase, the electric vehicle will first be tested in various collection areas, with Kelheim serving as the start and end point. It is scheduled to travel 150 to 180 kilometers a day, covering the disposal areas of Kelheim, Regensburg, and Eichstätt. A separate charging infrastructure will be built in Kelheim for the Mercedes-Benz eActros 300. This is expected to be operational from August 2024.
