Major order for 500 electric buses: Daimler Buses signs new framework agreement

The Flemish public transport operator De Lijn, headquartered in Mechelen, Belgium, is fully committed to electromobility as part of its corporate strategy. Since 2022, it has exclusively procured electric buses, and by 2035 at the latest, De Lijn’s bus fleet is set to operate entirely with zero local emissions.

He succeeds Franziska Cusumano (36), who will assume the role of CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation in Japan as of April 1, 2026.

17 new Setra intercity buses for Merz Reisen

Merz Reisen GmbH is taking delivery of 17 new Setra Low Entry intercity buses. Each S 515 LE is equipped with 45 seats and features advanced technology, including the Sideguard Assist 2 system.

Omnibus Weidachstein embarks on a battery electric future – with five new eCitaro city buses

On 16 December 2025, Omnibus Weidachstein GmbH & Co. KG took delivery of five new Mercedes-Benz eCitaro buses at the Daimler Buses plant in Neu-Ulm. Marijo Sapina, Head of Sales for Private Customers at Daimler Buses, handed over the new vehicles to Dr. Sandra Bayerle-Schnarrenberger, owner of Omnibus Weidachstein GmbH & Co. KG, and her son Kilian Benedikt Bayerle, in the presence of Eva Treu, District Administrator of Neu-Ulm.
